Since Belgian festival Graspop Metal Meeting is only one week later, chances are indeed very big that Kiss will headline one of the three days there as well. Quite soon, the first official Graspop names will be announced!

Sonic Boom eventually entered the US Billboard charts on number 2 position, selling between 150 000 and 175 000 copies in its first week of release in the US only. It thus ranked the highest Kiss album ever.
In Belgium, it entered the Top 100 Flemish Ultratop charts on number 57 the first week and climbed up to number 40 in its second week.

Yesterday Sonic Boom was released in Europe in a two-disc set, and today it is in stores in the US/Canada at Walmart stores. I had a very brief listening to it, and I must say: better than expected: it indeed does sound like 70s Kiss with some more modern influences, even slightly catchy/poppy when Paul Stanley comes in. Today the new US/Canada "Kiss Alive 35" tour kicks off at Cobo Arena in Detroit. Cobo Arena is the place where (part of) the succesful "Alive!" album was recorded back in 1975 ... the link with the new tour is obvious. Kiss say they will replay the entire Alive! album and some favourites required by the audience. Next to that, they will perform "Modern Day Delilah, the new single.
Yesterday, they've been filming the MDD video with the new costumes on the new stage.
If you want to hear "Modern Day Delilah", you can listen to it here on YouTube.

Original Kiss guitar player Ace Frehley will release his first new album in 20 years on 15 September 2009. It's called "Anomaly" and had a "spacy" cover (what did you expect?). It will be available in three different packages. One song called "Outer space" is only available through iTunes.

- Sonic Boom will be released in Europe by RoadRunner Records on 5 October 2009. Two versions are said to be available: the regular cd, and the three disc set which will be released in the US the next day.
- The Kiss Alive 35 Tour will continue in the US and Canada. It will be an "updated" version of the last tour: new costumes, new pyro, new stage and a mix of the Kiss Alive! songs and new Sonic Boom songs. The tour kicks off on 25 September in Detroit.

The first new Kiss cd this century is called "Sonic Boom" and will be released on October 6. In the US and Canada, it will be sold as a three cd/dvd package through Wallmart: the Sonic Boom cd itself, a remastered Greatest Hits cd, and a live dvd covering a Buenos Aires concert from the recent tour.
Probably, the European version will be different (maybe the Sonic Boom cd only?) but no specific news about that right now.
The cover has been designed by the same artist who created the Rock 'n' Roll over album cover.
This will be the Sonic Boom track list:
- Modern Day Delilah
- Russian Roulette
- Never Enough
- Yes I Know (Nobody's Perfect)
- Stand
- Hot and Cold
- All for the Glory
- Danger Us
- I'm an Animal
- When Lightning Strikes
- Say Yeah

While Kiss is touring the States, South-America and Canada the last few months, they still did find time to record their first new studio album in years. As they put it themselves, it will be a "classic" Kiss album, sounding like their 70s albums.
The album title is unknown as for know, but is should be released in October 2009.

Quite off-topic, but anyway. I went to see Status Quo yesterday at the "Lokerse Feesten" and honestly, it was a great rock 'n' roll party. They were followed by the Australian Pink Floyd Show, which, to my surprise, sounded quite heavy and made me watch the whole gig. Nice!
